About the project

The main goal of the project is to strengthen the capacity of civil society organizations to create public policy proposals and advocacy in the field of women entrepreneurship, by merging existing networks into a single platform that will be of interest to women entrepreneurs at all levels.

Specific objectives of the project are: building a national platform fo rWE as the main social partner for policymaking and reform processes; facilitating structural dialogue, networking and consultation between WE stakeholders at the national and local level; improving the capacity of CSOs for WE for policy, advocacy and cooperation with national and local authorities; promoting women entrepreneurs as drivers of change in public policy.

Despite the increased focus on creating better conditions for the development of women entrepreneurship, the country still faces serious challenges when it comes to increasing the number of women entrepreneurs and their competitiveness. At the same time, many international comparative papers and indices indicate that North Macedonia has significant gender inequality in participation in the economic life of the country and in access to resources and opportunities. The design of the Platform emphasizes the need for dialogue, structural cooperation and trust between national / local government and the business community for the economic empowerment of women, including young and rural women. The idea for the project stems from the fact that investing in women is one of the most effective means of increasing equality and promoting inclusive and sustainable economic growth. The connection of the private sector with the institutions, the municipalities, etc. will contribute to the development of entrepreneurial awareness and awareness of the possibility of creating common policies that will contribute to the common good.
